Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, Liz McBain is an artist, curator, and entrepreneur whose work is rooted in a lifelong love of creating. After studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design and North Carolina State University, Liz established herself as both an artist and advocate for American craftsmanship. Liz is the founder and curator of The Duck Gallery, and co-owner of Tar Heel Trading Company, an American handcraft gallery, alongside her husband, Jamie. Today, she works across multiple mediums, creating original paintings, drawings and her handcrafted jewelry line, Riley James. Her work is inspired by the coastal beauty of the Outer Banks and the connections made in this community between the sound and the sea. Liz lives in Southern Shores, NC, with her husband and three children, where family, faith and the coast inspire everything she creates.
