BJ Neal "Pretzel"
In her own words: "I've been drawn to color all my life, and still remember the vivid colors of crayons I used as my grandmother cautioned me to "stay in the lines" of my coloring book. I loved to sketch with pencil, charcoal and later pastels.
Segue to being a mom with kids and falling in love with watercolor! I have vivid recall of going with a group of women to my first "live model" class . At the end of class, I had a terrific headache & realized I'd been so focused and excited that I'd been holding my breath most of the day!
Moving to the Outer Banks and away, too, from the delicious "happy accidents" of watercolor to acrylics, I found another medium I enjoyed. Always trying to balance a full-time job and my love of art, I've found they seem to work off each other. However, I find my leaning is more and more to art. If people like my work, that's "the cherry on top”.
BJ resides in Southern Shores, NC on the Outer Banks.
