A true piece of Outer Banks history.  In 2019, Hurricane Dorian struck the Outer Banks, causing widespread destruction.  Half of Avalon Pier was washed away in the storm.  Fragments of the pier were scattered along the beach, and local artist Noah Snyder was able to salvage three pieces of the pier and turn them into one-of-a-kind works of art. This is the final piece.  "Avalon” by local artist Noah Snyder was rendered using his signature fractal burning technique, accented by acrylic paint.  The original rebar and nails that attached this piece to the pier remain intact, capturing the raw beauty and resilience that exists in the Outer Banks.
